High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. I have been to this one about 5 times and usually the wait is not very long and you get your food pretty fast . My favorite is the Napa valley chicken and portobellos. It's around $12 and I get full just from that with no appetizer. My son likes the little French bread pizzas with yogurt and strawberries on the side . Last time I went I ordered the s'mores churros and they were really good . Nothing to write home to mom about , but if you are hungry and want something decent for a reasonable price It's a good idea. I am sure I will be there again many more times!

I usually don't like writing bad reviews, but this experience was by far one of the worst I've had in a long time. My steak rubbery and not fresh, the server was very monotone like if she just didn't care. After I told her about my steak, she has the nerve to ask if I want to take it home and cook it myself. I will never go to Applebee's again. First and last!

I haven't been to an Applebee's since college days... Fuzzy memories of 2 for $20 meals and late night long islands ;)... We went to watch football, get free food ($50 gift card!!), and fill our hungry bellies. I was looking forward to revisiting this neighborhood bar and grill. We arrived mid afternoon and saw that there was a wait but there were at least a dozen tables open... Patience is not always a virtue when you're hungry, you called ahead, and there were many tables open. We made a beeline to the bar and was provided with menus and waters promptly :) For the appetizer, we ordered the trio sampler with pretzel bread sticks and cheese, buffalo chicken and ranch, and southwestern egg rolls. Nothing too special, your typical fried apps. I liked the bread sticks the best, but they were a bit too salty. For the entrees, my fiancé ordered steak and mashed potatoes (typical guy...) and I ordered their spinach berry salad. With dressing on the side. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive. Overall, the steak was okay, the potatoes tasted a bit bland, the salad they brought me was the avocado and strawberry salad with the dressing mixed in instead of the one I ordered. Not wanting to wait for another salad, I did not send it back. The salad was pretty good. Fresh avocado and the chicken was not dry. But it wasn't the entree I ordered. We debated on dessert, because usually its the deciding factor between food coma or not... Having $5 left on our gift card, we ordered the Triple Chocolate Meltdown. It was delicious. Nice balance of hot n cold, ooey and gooey cakey goodness. Overall, the hostesses were slow, bartenders were nice, the food was okay, they brought me the wrong salad, and dessert saved the day. I'd probably not go back unless I had a gift card...

Ok so here's the deal, this place was great when it first opened but there's been alot of different managers and the only reason why Iknow that, was due to the long wait times during lunch hour, even though it was 1pm. Melissa our server was nice and when asked when our food would be ready it took her over 5 minutes to get back with us and had forgotten that we asked for our food time. Mistakes happen but I would say they happen about 50 percent of the time, so ideally this is a hit or miss place. We have also used their curbside carryout a week or two ago and it was better than going inside. They came out asked us if we wanted something to drink, and just fyu, a large drink when it's curbside carryout only cost 99cents, so by the time we got our drinks the food was ready. So I think the kitchen prioritizes curbside carry out. Also, they gave us evrything we needed along with sauces, silverware, extra napkins, and hot food. We ordered a black and blue burger and a chicken Cobb salad, it was cooked correctly and tasted great. So would I go there again, sure, would I rave about it, no, is it quick servuce, only curbside. Remember it's your neighborhood grill!

I always prefer to sit at thd bar when I come to Applebee's. The bartenders without exception have always been extremely personable and accommodating. Depending on crowd, sometimes that can delay your food getting to you in a timely manner. This is usually resolved with the "dude where the hell is my food" look???? This time, there were none of those issues. Jose could explain each dish I asked about and give his personal opinion on each. He was extremely accomadating and professional. A few fellow patrons even commented they were glad he decided to stay. When my salmon arrived, I will admit, I was quizzical at the presentation. It looked dried and overcooked. The greens looked wilted and the artichoke cheese sauce looked like it was sitting under the heat lamp. First thought, taste it to confirm my thoughts and send it back. Well that didn't happen! I tasted it and pulled the salmon apart with my fork and it looked juicy and tasted pretty good. Almost like a bacony taste. Well needless to say, I finished it with 2 glasses of Arnold Palmer and a glass or 2 or 4 of wine later; it was time to go. But the best thing about sitting at the bar is the chance you have to connect with other people. Almost an hour later, I am leaving after meeting a fellow vet. Exchanging war stories and jokes. This alone took Applebee's from 3 stars to 4!!!! Cheers!!!

Ive been coming here for many years. Food is good but drinks like margaritas n long islands are usually watered down. Overall its a good place to get food. The burgers are great, and the Cajun chicken pasta is amazing.

I honestly don't like going to chain restaurants such as Applebees but I was in Cutler Bay and there was not too many choices. We sat at a table but the bartender was our waitress. She took our drink orders by yelling at us from the bar lol. We ordered chips and salsa which were really burnt and nasty. The bartender never came to ask how they were. I had to stand up and walk to the bar every time I needed something. Food came out and was OK which is fine its Applebees, you cant really expect more. My problem was not the food it was the horrible unprofessional service from an overwhelmed bartender/waitress.

I been coming to this location for over a year everyday after my boyfriend and I get out of work .....knowing they open till late most nights till 1 am ...so we came in at 1145 pm on august 31,2014 we had one of friends waiting for us .when we were trying go to go inside we where greeted by the hostess at the front . Telling us that they were closing earlier because of " " "fumigation" letting us we can't come in . Coming here for awhile now we knew that sounded werid . After arguing with for a min we were finally let in by our usually bartender she went up and talk to her .after talking to her we found out it was a lie . That the manger wanted to just leave early . I work in the restaurant so I know how this story goes . Which I think it's very rude and disrespectful to your guests who our coming in . As I mention I work in the restaurant biz. I know everyone wants to go home after a late night . But if your. Establishment says you close at a centred time you should abye by it ...the manger on duty that night was Carlos .other then that I never have any complains about this restaurant service and food is alway great .

Recently tried to eat here, all I have to say is wow what crappy service. The hostesses sucked! They didn't know what they were doing! There were 5 tables empty and a bunch of people waiting forever to be seated. Finally when they sat us, no menu or silver wear. Then the severs kept passing us by without acknowledging us. Finally we just got up and left. See ya never again Applebee's.
